The Cardinal has not lost since dropping a 52-31 decision at No. 2 Oregon on Oct. 2. Rated as the No. 4 team in the Bowl Championship Series standings, Stanford closed out an 8-1 Pac-10 Conference campaign by beating Oregon State 38-0 on Nov. 27. No. 12 Virginia Tech (11-2) is on an even longer tear. The Hokies dropped their first two games — 33-30 to Boise State and 21-16 to heavy underdog James Madison — but haven't lost since. They extended their winning streak to 11 with a 44-33 triumph over Florida State in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game Dec. 4. Only Auburn, Oregon and TCU have won more consecutive games in 2011.
